SCOT GEMMILL admits two costly errors ended any hope his young Scots had of stunning 10-man Portugal as they slumped to a second Group C defeat.

Scotland were desperate to get points on the board after losing in the Czech Republic last week.

But the Portuguese - cheered on by Celtic duo Jota and Paulo Bernardo - boasted West Ham's new £40million signing Mateus Fernandes as captain and eventually outclassed the spirited Scots.
