Meeting Elvis left me all shook up

She talked to her idol at Prestwick on only UK visit

ONE of the few people still around who saw Elvis in Britain is still a devoted fan - and even married a Presley impersonator.

Anne Murphy, 83, is in a small group who got up close to The King during his stopover at Prestwick Airport.

Elvis never performed or toured in Britain so his 90-minute refuelling stop at the Ayrshire airport on March 3, 1960, while returning from military service in Germany is the only time he set foot in the UK.

Anne, then 16, was tipped off and she joined a bunch of screaming fans who crowded round him at the airport.

She can be seen in a black and white photo beaming up at the pop icon in his military uniform.
