BOB MacINTYRE plans to feed off the Bethpage crowd at the Ryder Cup having learned a valuable lesson in the last week.

The Scot bounced back from losing the lead to Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship last Sunday by shooting 66 to sit 10 under on the second day of the Tour Championship at East Lake and share fourth place, just three shots off the pace.

England's Tommy Fleetwood (63) and American Russell Henley (66) lead the way on 13 under.

But what has been even more valuable to MacIntyre is his experience in dealing with being targeted by spectators in the heat of a head-to-head against a big-name American.

He feels that will pay off for team Europe in what is expected to be a hostile atmosphere in New York.
