Clarets put a dampener on Fletch's dugout debut
-
IT'S difficult to imagine mild-mannered Darren Fletcher having the hairdryer treatment in his managerial locker like mentor Sir Alex Ferguson infamously did.
But whatever the caretaker boss said to his Manchester United stars at halftime, it almost worked.
As job interviews go, this one couldn't have started much worse for former Scotland skipper Fletcher.
United found themselves 1-0 down inside the opening 13 minutes to a Burnley side who hadn't won a game since October.
But a stunning comeback after the break saw Benjamin Sesko score twice as the Red Devils threatened to win a winnable game of football.
The goals were Sesko's first ones in three months,
And this fact alone makes Fletcher some sort of managerial genius.
But he was denied a winning start thanks to a thumping equaliser from sub Jaidon Anthony.
