COLE MCKINNON hailed "a great day for the club" as Airdrie picked up their first win of the season - then called on the Diamonds to use it as a springboard.

Airdrie last week parted company with boss Danny Lennon but Euan Henderson's first-half penalty saw the club beat Arbroath 1-0 to secure their first league victory in 12 attempts to pull within three points of Queen's Park.
McKinnon said: "It's our first three points of the season so it was always going to be a massive win and a great day for the club.
