Iran 'spy' suspects arrested at Faslane

TWO suspected Iranian spies have been arrested after trying to enter the Faslane nuclear base.

Armed police swooped on a man, 34, and a woman, 31, who were seen acting suspiciously near the home of Britain's nuclear deterrent.

According to reports, the man is believed to be an Iranian national. The woman's nationality is unknown.

Tension between Iran and allied powers has been heightened after the US and Israel launched air strikes in a bid to bring down the country's theocratic regime.

Concerns have been raised that the arrested pair were planning an attack or carrying out surveillance.
