GARY Clark, from Falkirk, says we should welcome asylum seekers fleeing persecution.
-
Gary is among the Scots who sympathise with the plight of asylum seekers seeking a better life in Scotland.
The retired trade unionist believes the vast majority have fled poverty, and in some cases terror, for the safety of the UK.
Clark felt strongly enough about the issue that he attended a counter-protest in Falkirk.
The 57-year old claims he witnessed neo-Nazis among those protesting asylum seekers being housed in a hotel there.
He said: "A lot of asylum seekers have been through hell, torture and abuse and have come here to escape that.
"We should not be driving these people away. We should be a multicultural society.
"Unfortunately, a lot of people at the protest had been targeted by social media bots and the rightwing agitators are among them.
"There were neo-Nazi groups in Falkirk 'sieg heiling' and saying, 'Send them back and let God deal with them'.
