Hatful of nominations for Stephen as TV Bafta shortlist is announced

STEPHEN Graham's awards season success continued yesterday as he landed 11 Bafta TV nominations for his Netflix drama Adolescence and seven for Disney+ series A Thousand Blows.

The star, 50, who both acts and executive produces, could come away with more gongs than he can carry if both dramas win in all the categories in which they are nominated.

Hard-hitting Adolescence, about the online influence of toxic masculinity on youngsters, was shortlisted in the limited drama category.

Graham, who also co-wrote it, was nominated for leading actor while Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters got best supporting actor nominations and Christine Tremarco and Erin Doherty received supporting actress nods.

The show's other nominations came in the craft awards, which reward technical excellence.

A Thousand Blows, a series based around Victorian-era boxing from Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight, was nominated for best drama series and Doherty got another nod, this time in the leading actress category, plus the drama had five more in the craft sections.

The arrival of the Bafta TV shortlist also brought good news for Amandaland, which received multiple nods including three in the best actress category for Jennifer Saunders, Lucy Punch and Philippa Dunne.
