Gangland killer and paranoid pal who ran into river and drowned
Daily Record
|November 15, 2025
THE hitman who shot dead Marc Webley was pals with a man who died after fleeing into freezing water just days after the killing.
It's emerged Grant Hunter, 34, was friends with Daniel Fraser who a week later vanished before being found dead in Musselburgh Lagoons, East Lothian.
On the evening before going AWOL, Daniel had been pictured with one of drug baron Mark Richardson's chief lieutenants, who can't be named for legal reasons.
A source said: "Hunter knew Webley but they had a fallout over drugs. He was a junkie and basically a nobody.
"Before shooting him, Hunter showed Webley his face as he wanted him to know it was him. He hated him.
"Hunter was actually from the same area of Edinburgh as Danny and they had been speaking in the weeks and days before the shooting.
"Danny knew a lot of folk from the north of the city as well as plenty from the south.
