City put tie out of sight inside half hour... and that's without Haaland

OMAR MARMOUSH grabbed a double to help fire Manchester City into next month's Carabao Cup Final and leave Newcastle feeling punch-drunk.

Eddie Howe's men headed south huge underdogs following their 2-0 first-leg defeat.

But Newcastle's defence of the trophy was crushed with little more than a whimper from the holders.

City will now look forward to a crunch showdown with title rivals Arsenal at Wembley.

Marmoush scored twice before halftime and Tijjani Reijnders added a third to rub Newcastle's noses in the dirt.

Sub Anthony Elanga pulled one back after the break but it was of no consolation to the Magpies.

City - with talisman Erling Haaland not even spotted until the last 20 minutes - were in cruise control from start to finish.

But Marmoush said: "The first goal was very lucky - my touch wasn't the best but the ball went in.

"I try to make the runs and be in the right place. I am very happy to score two goals.
