EILIDH DOYLE reckons Scotstoun Stadium will be a fortress for Scots stars at this summer's Common- wealth Games - and even replicate the Hampden Roar of Glasgow 2014.

With the scaled-down showpiece just six months away, the home of Glasgow Warriors is set for a makeover that will raise the capacity to around 10,000 for track and field.

It’s a massive gear shift from 12 years ago when 50,000 fans piled into Mount Florida to cheer Doyle towards 400m hurdles silver and Kylie had them dancing in the aisles at the closing ceremony.

But the intimidation factor that comes with a smaller venue could provide an even bigger home advantage, claims retired ace Eilidh, who set her first Scottish record at the stadium as a teenager.

And that backing can spur stars such as Josh Kerr and Jake Wightman to raise the roof and fly the Saltire aloft.
