Jambos boss McInnes admits he's gutted but not surprised league leaders have no players in Clarke's squad for friendlies

DEREK McINNES admits he's gutted for his high-flying Hearts heroes at Steve Clarke's Scotland snub.

The Jambos are two points clear at the top of the Premiership but there are NO Gorgie men in Clarke's squad for the World Cup warm-up friendlies against Japan and Ivory Coast at the end of the month.

Craig Gordon and Lawrence Shankland - who is back this weekend from injury - have been part of the international setup but top men such as Craig Halkett and Harry Milne have missed out despite strong displays.

McInnes said: “Surprised, probably not. Disappointed, yeah, absolutely. We've been a really strong team this season and there's been key players within it.
