'Cut water use' plea as reservoirs run low

PEOPLE are being urged to save water as reservoir levels remain up to 28 per cent below average.

Scottish Water made the plea following the driest spring in 70 years, and a drier than average August.

Average reservoir levels are at 69 per cent this week - below the usual 82 per cent for this time of year. In the east, levels fell two per cent to 53 per cent - well below the 81 per cent average.
