Crossbow mum-killer detained at Carstairs

Sister and neighbour also targeted in bloodbath

A MAN who used a crossbow to kill his mum, claiming the "devil" told him to do it, has been detained in hospital.

Daniel Parker, 37, attacked Margaret Parker, 78, at their home on Fernieside Crescent, in Edinburgh, on May 21, 2024.

The 37-year-old had also fired the weapon at his sister Deborah McGlashan and neighbour Sarah Manifold.

Parker had faced charges of murder, attempted murder and a firearms accusation at a hearing in the capital in March.
