SALLY HEADING TO KILIMANJARO

- BY SUE CRAWFORD

After they both survived cancer, Coronation Street actress Sally Dynevor and her husband Tim are on a mission to fill their lives with adventure and tick off experiences on their ever-growing bucket list.

They have just returned from a fabulous trip to Japan and Sally is now preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, at 19,340 feet, Africa's highest peak.

Sally was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009, just as her Corrie character, also called Sally, learned she had the disease. Mercifully, the star made a full recovery, as did her character.

And the actress's husband Tim, 63, a writer and actor, is also cancer clear after his diagnosis in 2023.

Sally, 62, said: "Going through something like that makes you want to embrace life all the more.

"We'd love to do more travelling. We're trying really hard to just do lots of lovely things while we can.

"You just don't know what's around the corner, do you? That's why we've decided we should do a couple of our bucket list things.

"We all put stuff off and think, 'It's too expensive, I'm not going to do that'.

"But we're in our 60s now and this is the time to be doing these things."

Sally will celebrate 40 years on Coronation Street next year, and in her time on the soap her character has been at the centre of storylines involving fights, affairs and even a stint in prison after being wrongly convicted of fraud.

But as she fulfils her dreams off-screen, Sally admits that she is getting fewer of the dramatic Corrie stories these days.

She said: "Obviously, I'm not getting the stories that I used to get, but when I do get a story, I really look forward to doing it and really enjoy it."
