LUKE HUMPHRIES admits he must start lashing Luke Littler to spawn one of sport's greatest rivairies.

- BY CRAIG SWAN

The world No.2 says he cannot keep getting Nuked as he looks to become the third man to retain the Premier League title after Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

“Cool Hand’ beat Littler in last year's final in London but it has been one-way traffic in the other direction since.

The world No.1 won showpiece clashes at majors including the Grand Slam, Grand Prix and, just last weekend, the World Masters.

Humphries and Littler are consistently clear of the rest but the Premier League king concedes it will stop being a proper battle if he keeps losing.

Asked if it could become one of sport's great clashes, the 30-year-old said: “Yes, possibly.

“I do think so. But I can't keep letting him beat me all the time in every final because then it will be just one-sided.

“It’s not a rivalry if someones just beating you all the time.
