Clubs struggle as they cop costs

MAKING ends meet is a struggle for many professional football clubs in Scotland.

The majority of teams in the top four divisions will never make money from playing in European competitions or share in the prize money awarded to the winners of the major trophies.

These clubs rely on fans regularly passing through turnstiles every second Saturday and, if they're lucky, a decent cup run involving a game or two against the biggest sides to boost revenues.
