Mum trusted beast to help altar boy

A FORMER senior Roman Catholic priest has been jailed for five years for the sexual abuse of an altar boy in the 1980s.

Thomas Millar, 71, repeatedly attacked the victim who decades later revealed the trauma to his wife before going to police.

Millar had meanwhile been elevated to the title of monsignor to reflect the high esteem in which he was held by the church.
