Jackpot winner squandered cash on cars, hols and gadgets

- BY RORY CASSIDY

1 MILL TO DODGING THE BILL

THE man accused of a double dine and dash scam can be revealed as a former millionaire who scooped the first jackpot on an Ant and Dec TV game show.

Nathan Hageman won £1 million on the comedy duo's ITV show Red or Black? in 2011 but squandered his fortune on cars, holidays, gadgets and watches.

Hageman, from Tilehurst in Reading, has 16 convictions for 45 offences.

Last year he was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after he stole from a nurse while she worked in an intensive care unit. He swiped her handbag then used her car keys to steal her vehicle.

After being released from prison, he headed to Scotland. It's understood he settled in Bathgate, West Lothian, before moving to Kilmarnock.

And he is now at the centre of a double dine and dash scam, after a man and a woman were outed on social media as having fled restaurants in the Ayrshire town without paying.
