Wrexham facing key decisions as transfer deadline day nears

Manager Phil Parkinson has funds available to bolster his squad

The Red Dragons have often left it until late to finalise their business in recent windows, with three new signings joining on the last day during the summer.

The arrivals of Ben Sheaf, Dom Hyam and Issa Kabore proved to be key in Wrexham establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the Championship.

Phil Parkinson's side endured a shaky start to their campaign, but are now fighting near the top end of the table as they eye a potential and incredible fourth successive promotion.

It will take some work, though, for Wrexham's dream of reaching the Premier League for the first time ever to be realised.

All of Wrexham's activity so far during the window has related to outgoings, with captain James McClean leaving to join hometown club Derry City and striker Jake Bickerstaff making the switch to Cheltenham Town, both on permanent deals.

There have also been two loan departures with defender Conor Coady making a temporary exit to Charlton Athletic and midfielder Andy Cannon moving to Burton Albion.

However, club officials have made it clear Parkinson has money to spend on incomings before the transfer window closes.

It follows Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac welcoming Apollo Sports Capital on board as new minority investors last month.
