Star taken to hospital after friendly in Australia
WREXHAM have been dealt a huge blow after one of their star players was taken to hospital for scans following a preseason friendly.
The Red Dragons are currently in Australia as they prepare for their first season in the Championship for 43 years. Midfielder Ollie Rathbone went down with an ankle injury during the first half of Wrexham’s 2-1 defeat to Sydney FC yesterday morning.
The 28-year-old appeared to be in agony as he was helped to walk off the pitch by club medics. Manager Phil Parkinson confirmed after the game that he had been taken to the hospital for an X-ray.
