A NEW visitor sign in a popular Eryri village has been removed less than two weeks after it was erected.

Visitor sign in village removed weeks after it was erected

New signage was erected by Cyngor Gwynedd. The old sign is on the left by the road junction. Inset: the sign has gone

Cyngor Gwynedd has UK Government funding to highlight Llanberis’ internationally recognised slate landscape and heritage.

Part of this is being spent on new signage in the area. One resident said a new sign was put up on the pavement outside the Becws Melyn cafe on the high street “around two weeks ago” It replaced a bin that was at the location.

He was left stunned when he then saw workers return this week to pull the sign down and take it away. This came after concerns were raised that the sign was blocking the view of drivers using the nearby road junction.
