Skipper looking forward to lifting trophy and parade
Virgil van Dijk has once more encouraged Liverpool supporters to make a spectacle of things as the city gets set to host a famous trophy parade later this month.
Having officially clinched a second Premier League title in five years on April 27 when they beat Tottenham 5-1 to go 15 points clear of Arsenal with just four games to play, the Reds will get their hands on the trophy itself when they end the campaign at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, May 25.
A city-wide parade is planned for the following day (Monday, May 26), with the five-hour event set to begin at Allerton Maze, in the south of the city, before travelling north-bound on Queens Drive towards the Childwall Five-ways roundabout and then on to the Rocket flyover.
The Liverpool players will also be celebrating along Queens Drive, Mill Bank and West Derby Road before turning on to Leeds Street via Islington and then The Strand, where the most memorable images are likely to be captured.
The route finishes at Blundell Street and the 15-kilometre route will begin at 2.30pm on Monday, May 26.
