TREARDDUR

Bay are flying the flag for Tier 3 clubs in the JD Welsh Cup after they reached the quarterfinals on the back of a 5-3 win over Newport City. There were three goals in added time as Newport clawed it back to 4-3, but Liam Armstrong made things safe with a 95th-minute fifth for the home side.

Llandudno were dealt another bitter blow a week after losing in the semifinals of the Nathaniel MG Cup as they conceded a 91st-minute goal to lose 2-1 at Caerau Ely in the fourth round.

In a battle between two sides in the North and South sections of Tier 2, it was the hosts who took the lead with an Adam Stephens goal in the 76th minute.

But no sooner had their celebrations ended than Caerau struck back with a goal at the other end by Dan Griffiths.

That left all to play for in the final 14 minutes and Stephens picked up yellow cards in the 86th and 90th minutes to leave his side a player short going into the dying embers.
