Top weight Chief could be ready to take charge

PLENTY of inform sprinters will go to post for the SBK: Betting Without The Bull Handicap at Wolverhampton but it may pay to keep things simple and side with the top weight Zoulu Chief.

A decent juvenile, he won a valuable nursery at York’s Ebor meeting and after a busy season was then sent to Dubai. He cut little ice out there, though, and it was perhaps unsurprising as he had not had much of a break.

After a year off, he returned to action last spring and while he was running respectably, it was not until he was gelded in July that he came back to life.

Good runs in valuable handicaps followed then, making his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton in November, he bolted up by three lengths.

He was returning to six furlongs there and back over the same course and distance, he might be able to defy a 7lb rise.
