Sea defence works on course for completion

COASTAL defence works at a premier seaside resort are nearing completion, Conwy Council has confirmed.

Upgrades have been taking place in Llandudno since last summer in the hope they would be completed in time for this Easter.

Weak spots in the town's West Shore defences have been addressed, with the 50-metre extension of a secondary wall and "stop log" locations installed for gap barriers.

This work began in July and was scheduled for completion in September, but a few finishing touches are still required.

Improvements at Llandudno's North Shore, near the paddling pool, got under way in late September.

A new wall has been built by the Craig y Don paddling pool and another east of the RNLI station.
