DAVID MOYES conceded it was difficult to leave out Merlin Rohl against Leeds on Monday but is backing the German to have a growing impact.

- JOE THOMAS

With lliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye returning from their AFCON success with Senegal, there was a chance someone would miss out despite Everton’s excellent display at Aston Villa eight days earlier.

Rohl was the unfortunate one, losing his spot to Gueye. Harrison Armstrong came off at the break but did so for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall rather than Rohl, who did not get onto the pitch as Everton fought back to draw 1-1.
