Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui appreciates Ruben Amorim’s “harsh” way of communicating.

- By STEVE RAILSTON

Mazraoui came on from the bench against Burnley to make his first appearance of the season - he had been absent since suffering a small injury in the opening preseason friendly against Leeds in Sweden.

The Moroccan international is now in his second season at Old Trafford. Mazraoui was signed from Bayern Munich for £12.8million, with a possible £4.2m in add-ons, in the summer of 2024 and he made an impressive 57 appearances in all competitions in his debut campaign.

Mazraoui was signed by Erik ten Hag, who he previously worked with at Ajax, but he continued to be an important member of the dressing room following Ruben Amorim’s appointment.

Mazraoui was asked about Amorim and said: “He is a great manager, a great person. I really love to work with him. I like him a lot.
