'It was horrifying... People were running out of the building'

Witness describes the scene as huge blaze broke out at hotel

A major blaze broke out at a hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog on Saturday.

Fire crews were scrambled to the Queens Hotel shortly before 11.10am as flames took hold of the building.

Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform battled the blaze, with the roads closed off while emergency services worked at the scene.

The incident has caused major damage.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service statement urged people to stay away and keep doors and windows closed while the emergency was dealt with.
