THE New Season Lamb (NSL) SQQ continues to resist the usual downward seasonal trend, with the current average still trending over £1 higher than year-earlier levels.

The NSLSQQ average increased by 1.5p during the most recent week to stand at 755.6p/kg. This is over a £1 higher than year-earlier levels, and a notable £1.86 higher than the longer term five-year average.
Numbers forward for the week were a notable 15% higher than the previous week, and 5% higher than the corresponding week last year.
This suggests supplies have improved, with the strong averages likely helping to draw numbers forward.
