First Principle's unbeaten record on the line at Thirsk

FIRST Principle is difficult to oppose as he puts his unbeaten record on the line in division one of the Racing TV Club EBF Novice Stakes at Thirsk.

The Kingman colt did not make his juvenile debut until early December, but it was worth the wait as he quickened smartly once the gap came and ultimately won with a bit up his sleeve.

That form looks pretty strong, with the runner-up Spectacular View a previous winner who is now rated 91, while third-placed Spanish Voice was successful at Newmarket on his only subsequent appearance.

First Principle has to concede weight to the majority of his rivals on his return to action, but should take some stopping nevertheless if fit enough do himself justice.

Topteam looks well placed to complete his hat-trick in the Power Plastics Ltd Handicap.
