The FAW CEO claims there's the potential to take the current stadium's capacity up to about 45,000 seats, a figure he believes would 'about right'.

However, he also suggested any such move would likely depend on the Bluebirds returning to the top flight.

Wales will return to the Principality Stadium for matches should they reach Euro 2028, and there's been some debate over where the team should base itself for matches in the future.

They last played at the home of Welsh rugby in a friendly with Spain back in 2018, and haven't played a competitive fixture at the stadium since a clash with England in 2011.

Mooney acknowledges that most supporters would like to stay at Cardiff City Stadium - and says he doesn't foresee a change to the current setup in the near future.
