Days Of Downpour Set To Be Followed By Snow For Many

AFTER a rain-soaked New Year resulted in local flooding and a string of warnings on river levels, North Wales is set to endure up to three days of snow this weekend, with the Met Office also warning of ice over the next 24 hours.

While the Met Office experts stressed that the widespread warning - covering a huge swathe of the UK - didn't mean everywhere should brace for a whiteout, up to a foot of snow could fall over upland parts of North Wales.

The Met Office has issued a three-day weather warning for North Wales, and said as much as 30cm of snow could drop on higher ground.
