Cop told pal details of sex assault probe on night out

A POLICE officer disclosed details from a sexual assault and domestic violence investigation while on a night out.

Jay Hunt was a police constable with North Wales Police, although has since left the force.

A misconduct hearing was told that in November 2024 he assisted in the arrest of a suspect in a case of a serious sexual assault, assaults and domestic abuse.

The following month he was out in Chester with a friend.

It was alleged that the-then serving officer informed the friend of the details of the case, which included the name of the victim and suspect in the case and the alleged offences.

This was then shared by the friend at the victim’s place of work with it alleged Mr Hunt - who had only joined the force in 2023 - indicated

what was being said was correct.
