Claire's files for administration

CLAIRE'S, the high street retailer known for its wide range of jewellery and accessories, has filed for administration in the UK, placing more than 2,000 jobs in jeopardy.

The company operates 278 stores across the UK including three in North Wales.

While no closure dates have been confirmed, the company has stated that stores will remain open as it explores “the best possible path forward.”

However, according to an update on their website, Claire's is no longer accepting online orders or issuing refunds. Orders not yet shipped will not be delivered.

The company reassured customers that payments are only taken at the point of dispatch so customers with pending orders should not be charged.
