CALL FOR ACTION ON 'BOMBSITE' STATE OF CIVIC HALL
Daily Post
|February 05, 2026
THERE are hopes Conwy’s Civic Hall will soon be back on the market - but concerned councillors called the landmark building “an eyesore”.
-
Conwy Civic Hall has been closed to the public for more than a decade, with various plans for use or redevelopment so far coming to nothing
At a finance and resources overview and scrutiny committee meeting this week, councillors were discussing the future of the Grade-II Listed building in the World Heritage Site and recently allocated funds to repair the roof.
But councillors Goronwy Edwards and Sian Grady highlighted how bad the building looked, complaining of unsightly front doors, unremoved posters on the door, rubbish and a broken window. Both were concerned with the town’s summer season on the horizon.
