CAFFI'R Cob have had to expand their cafe in Mold due to the sheer popularity of this quirky little eatery.

Caffi'r Cob, Mold

They have recently extended into the unit next door to make room for extra diners.

Owner Rob Lowe was fed up with having to turn customers away, so was left with no choice other than to make the premises larger. You now walk directly into a small room with a counter, which now also leads to a bigger dining area on the right.

The cafe area is beautifully decorated and is a treasure trove of interesting trinkets and Victorian style antiques. We occupied a small table near the front door, which was located next to a display of tempting cakes and pastries. The cake cabinet included items such as homemade bara brith for £4, lemon meringue for £4 or blueberry muffins for £3 each.

The menu offers a range of traditional Welsh servings alongside some unusual and original dishes. For instance, they had a homemade bubble and squeak dish, which was a Welsh traditional fried seasoned mashed potato, carrot and caramelised breakfast cabbage cake.
