Boss has praise for Robbo after plea for games

ARNE SLOT has responded to Andy Robertson's comments on his contract talks with Liverpool and a desire for more playing time.

The Reds vice-captain confirmed that he and the club have begun talks about a potential new deal.

His current contract expires at the end of the season and he is able to speak to clubs outside England about a pre-contract agreement.

Slot has handed Robertson just four starts in the Premier League this season, more often opting for summer signing Milos Kerkez at left-back, with the Scot admitting he has a decision to make about his future.

Slot noted Robertson's comments when explaining when he tells the players who will start for the Premier League clash against Burnley.
