A55 driver sped off from officer before crashing into police car

A DANGEROUS driver with no driving licence was chased by the police and only stopped when he was challenged with a Taser.

Christopher Voase was spotted on the A55 but drove away, going the wrong way around a roundabout and hitting a police car.

The 41-year-old admitted a dangerous driving charge, driving with no licence and no insurance.

A judge at Mold Crown Court jailed him for 12 months for the dangerous driving offence.

Prosecutor Joseph Lees said a police officer was alerted to a driver suspected of having no licence nor insurance on the A55 on August 26.

He spotted the Volkswagen car travelling towards Queensferry and followed it to the A494.

He indicated for it to stop but it continued to Plough Lane.
