SUPPORTERS turned out in numbers at the vibrant Verulam Recreation Grounds on Saturday to witness history as Verulam Sporting, in their debut season in the Ethekwini Masters Over 50s football league, brought back the glory days once enjoyed by past Verulam teams.
But Durban Sporting proved to be worth opponents, and early in the season they produced some commanding victories and were considered genuine title contenders. But after Verulam's comeback against Inanda Legends the previous week, this final showdown was never going to be taken lightly.
