State witness arrested after months of skipping court
Daily News
|February 04, 2026
A STATE witness who had refused to appear at the Durban Regional Court to testify since October was arrested yesterday morning, this after delaying a Chatsworth love triangle murder case.
The eyewitness had told the police that he no longer wished to testify in the murder trial of Paul Pillay. Pillay was allegedly fatally shot by Chatsworth businessman Rahman Sathar on September 5, 2024, after he confronted him about an affair with his wife.
Pillay was shot in front of his son after the heated exchange with Sathar.
