Best Actress Oscar on Mother's Day.. and she dedicates it to her daughter

Yes Buckley!

Jacobi Jupe and Jessie Buckley

Jessie Buckley dedicated her Mother's Day Oscars triumph to her daughter Isla – and revealed it came in the same week as another important milestone.

The Irish star said after the ceremony: "It feels like some kind of crazy alchemy... my daughter got her first tooth this week. I woke up with her lying on my chest, snuggling me and I feel like, what a gift."

Best Actress winner Jessie, 36, won the acclaim of the Academy for playing Shakespeare's wife Agnes Hathaway in Hamnet, alongside Paul Mescal and child star Jacobi Jupe.

She learned she was pregnant a week after filming finished. In her acceptance speech, she addressed Isla and said: "I love you and I love being your mum and I can't wait to discover life beside you."

Jessie added that Isla would have "absolutely no idea what's going on... and is probably dreaming of milk". She then jokingly addressed her daughter, saying: "This is kind of a big deal."
