Corridor care has soared in the past decade

AGE UK's new campaign challenges the idea that corridor care is an inevitability. It's not.

A decade ago, it was relatively unheard of - now it is in danger of being normalised in some hospitals. Age UK analysis shows a 525-fold increase in instances of corridor care of 12 hours or more since 2015/16.

We think this is shocking and completely unacceptable. Not enough has happened in recent years to remedy this challenge. Nor is enough planned now to bring it to an end.
