Pipe ban in force as heatwave hits

FIVE million people will be hit by a hosepipe ban as Britain braces for another heatwave.

High pressure and hot air from Europe will combine to bring seven days of soaring temperatures.

A yellow heat health alert is in place for the southern half of England over the next week, with temperatures expected to peak at 33C over the weekend after building up through the week.
