A FORMER Disney star has been diagnosed with cancer after James Van Der Beek’s death inspired her to get checked.
Dawson's Creek actor James, 48, died last week from stage three colon cancer, leaving his legion of loyal fans bereft.
Now Christy Carlson Romano, 42, who shot to fame on the Disney Channel’s Even Stevens alongside Shia LaBeouf in 2002, says she has the disease.
