Veterans to attend events 80 years on

THE Royal British Legion has issued a rallying cry for veterans who were involved in the Far East campaigns in the Second World War to join VJ commemorations this summer.

After the legion brought the nation together for VE Day in May, the charity is hoping to do the same with the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on August 15.

The RBL and the government will host a service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on VJ Day. Veterans or their families can register with the RBL to join the tribute.
