More Palestinians dead of hunger as Israel plans Gaza City offensive

- BY CHRIS HUGHES Defence and Security Editor

DESPERATE Gazans queue for food aid as the number of deaths caused by hunger went up by another 10 yesterday.

Health officials said two children were among the latest starvation death toll, bringing the total to 313 - 119 of them minors.

And Gaza's Government Media Office says the situation is only getting worse due to ongoing Israeli restrictions on food and aid deliveries.

It said: “The Israeli occupation authorities continue to commit a systematic starvation crime against the population of the Gaza Strip.”

The Media Office also said the Israeli army has closed all crossings into Gaza and banned the entry of 430 essential food items.

PUNISHMENT

In the past month, only 14% of the necessary supplies were allowed in.
