Head switched terms to go on cruise
A SCHOOL head changed term dates to fit her cruise holidays, a misconduct panel has heard.
Joy Ballard is also accused of creating a “toxic culture of fear” among staff.
She found minor fame when Channel 4's Educating Cardiff documentary series featured her previous school, Willows High, in 2015.
Shortly afterwards, Ms Ballard moved to Lift Ryde academy on the Isle of Wight, which is at the centre of allegations to a tribunal.
The panel heard claims she changed term dates in autumn 2023 and spring 2024 to suit her cruise trips.
