ENZO MARESCA insists the Premier League is not of secondary importance to Chelsea this term and Joao Pedro's selection proves it.

The Blues boss (top) revealed the Brazilian striker asked to be rested against Brentford, ahead of Wednesday's Champions League trip to Bayern Munich.

But Maresca refused the request and Pedro played 79 minutes despite the unspecified injury.
