Postmaster 'would still be alive if PO paid up'

A SUB-postmaster whose life was ruined by the Post Office's faulty accounting software died before receiving compensation.

Jonathan Armstrong's widow said his health was affected by constant stress after being wrongly accused of theft in the Horizon IT scandal.

Sarah Armstrong said: "I truly believe that if we'd been paid out five years ago, he would still be here."

Jono, as he was known to the family, had tried to take his own life in 2014.
